Hanoi midfielder Do Hung Dung revealed his AFC Cup rival’s biggest strength ahead of the AFC Cup 2019 inter-regional final.
Hanoi FC holds the early V-League championship this year and they are focusing on the AFC Cup 2019 inter-zonal final against North Korea’s April 25.
“The V-League championship this year is challenging because Hanoi must compete in 3 arenas after long flights. Having an early championship will help Hanoi in their run at the AFC Cup. The initial goal was to reach the AFC Cup ASEAN final, but this inter-zonal final is a surprise,” said Do Hung Dung on the first day of training.
The Hanoi players went through a tough time to reach this round, said Hung Dung. “The most challenging match was against the Philippines side Ceres Negros. Hanoi could have been knocked out if they had found the net. After that match, I thought we were lucky to reach this round.”
“Altyn Asyr players have the same style as Europe-based players. They have strength, modern tactics, and especially skillful wingers, who have troubled Hanoi’s defense a lot.”
April 25 is a traditional team, ranked 44th in Asia.
“I’ve studied their style. They play 4-4-2 and use dribbles on both wings. They have a tall striker number 13 who is the important factor on the squad.”
The first leg between Hanoi and April 25 will kick off at 7:00PM on September 25.
