Disappointing playstyle and poor performance in SEA Games 30 are the reason for Malaysia football federation not to extend the contract with coach Ong Kim Swee
The defending runner-up U22 Malaysia sets its goal to reach the semis final but failed to achieve the goal.
The less convincing display only give Ong Kim Swee’s side 4 points in the qualifying round, which led Malaysia football deferation to end contract extension with Ong Kim Swee.
Mr. Ong Kim Swee contract will expire this month. It is reported that Malaysia will not renew the contract with the 48-year-old coach, according to Secretary General Stuart Ramalingam.
"Ong Kim Swee's contract ends this December and will not be renewed. We are very disappointed to make this decision and will proceed to consider what happened. Hope that poor performance streak will not recur in the future, " the New Strait Times quoted General Secretary Stuart Ramalingam.
So far, SEA Games 30 men's football has found 4 representatives to the semi-finals. The semi-finals will kicks off on Dec 7.
